Religious center and a popular place for recreation and photo shoots. Mariupol Mosque was built on the territory of the Primorsky Park in honor of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and his wife Roksolana.

Construction works lasted three years. The works were funded by the city’s Azerbaijani diaspora and Turkish businessman Salih Cihani with the support of the city council. The mosque was built in the image and likeness of the Suleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul.

The grand opening of the Islamic center and mosque took place on October 17, 2007.

Now the mosque is one of the most popular places for recreation and photo shoots.
