The Museum of the History of the Greeks of the Azov Sea Region, which is a branch of the Mariupol Museum of Local Lore, is absolutely unique and has no other analogues in Ukraine. More than three thousand exhibits are presented in its walls.
Visitors can not only enjoy the numerous exhibitions and meetings that show the history and life of the Greeks of the Azov region, but also join their culture: take part in the staging of a local wedding ceremony or master class, which introduces traditional Greek costumes, try national cuisine, enjoy ethnic music or theatrical performances.
In addition, the museum takes an active part in the life of the city and surrounding villages, representing the community at exhibitions, collaborating with city schools and regularly meeting foreign delegations. Greek President Karolos Papoulias also visited the museum in 2008.
