Gogolfest is a multidisciplinary international festival of contemporary art, which first took place in Kyiv in 2007. Since 2017, the festival has been held in various cities of Ukraine. The program consists of five areas: theater, music, film, literature and visual arts.

The heart of the festival is the Center of Contemporary Art “DAKH”, founded by director Vlad Troitsky. Gogolfest affirms creativity – a key component of the country’s development, synthesizes new meanings and sets cultural trends, unites people who create a new “tomorrow”.

In 2018, the festival was held for the first time in Mariupol. In each city, the festival gets a personal name, Mariupol festival became – “StartUp Gogolfest”. During the festival there were more than 100 events being held. A lot of events took place in “secret places” in the historical part of Mariupol. For example, the basements of the Centre of Contemporary Art “Hotel Continental”, Azovstal Yacht Club, Vezha Creative Space etc.

For two years in a row, the festival creates a unique event – the art train Gogoltrain, on which you can come from Kiev directly to the heart of the festival.

StartUp Gogolfest is held in Mariupol every spring.
