The main pearl and magnet of the Cossack Square, located in the heart of the old part of Mariupol, near the Drama Theater, is a memorial standing among the trees and reminding of the rich Cossack past of the city.
A memorial sign was erected on the site of the Kalmius guard post – the center of the Kalmiuska Palanka – for the 500th anniversary of the Ukrainian Cossacks. Anyone can look at the sign, with commemorative inscriptions and recognizable seals of the Zaporozhian Sich, in the center of the Cossack Square.
